What do you think of a halfway state? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? This dish is an imitation of a creature in some process. It has died so the whale bone became white as it changes to a dish shape. Served as food there are various kinds of meat. The whale bone loses meat and thus mimics the dish. The whale bone dish is incomplete as a dish, or as a whale but it implies both.
